Beatriz Aísa
Graduated in Geography by the Autonomous University of Madrid in 2002. As a photographer she has been trained continuously since 2004 in schools in Madrid and Buenos Aires, as well as in author and creation workshops with contemporary photographers and visual artists.
Especially interested in shaping the imaginary of the Pyrenees, her work revolves around the relationships between landscape, cartography, and images of this territory. Her creative process is based on a search method, made of comings and goings between intuition and reflection around the documentary archive of geographers, scientists and travelers, and the exploration of spaces, bringing together science and art. Observation and walking are part of the process. The materiality of photography is the center of her artistic interest, through the use of photographic processes without a camera, and the intervention of her photographs with other techniques such as embroidery, or the making of artist's books and installations.
She has been a beneficiary of the cross-border artist residency of the EGTC Espacio Portalet with the Autour du Midi project. Cartographies of the landscape of Ossau, exhibiting in different rooms on both sides of the border, and the project being selected for the BFOTO Festival in Barbastro in 2018. That same year he participated with Geograficidades in the Huesca-Tarbes Contemporary Art Biennial, exhibited in both cities and, individually, at the Espai 22 Gallery in Girona. In 2020 she is invited to participate in the residence of Muretes de Arte, making an installation hybridizing optics and dry stone in Betorz (Huesca). She currently works in the series #desdeelpirineo, intervening with the embroidery of old postcards.

Geografies immaterials de la Vall de Sant Daniel
La Vall de Sant Daniel és actualment un espai verd metropolità, on la frontera entre l’urbà i el rural es dilueix, i on els usos del territori del passat, del present i del futur són recreats constantment.
El projecte parteix d’una prospecció en el marc de l’arqueologia contemporània, la qual estudia la memòria, la identitat i l’imaginari col·lectiu d’un entorn i una societat a través dels elements patrimonials i el paisatge cultural. Un imaginari que ha estat construït pel sentir i l’habitar dels veïns i usuaris al llarg de la història. S’excava i prospecta la memòria dels vius, indagant a les geografies immaterials del territori.
Una Memòria Vegetal
Les plantes poden guardar informació sobre canvis ambientals, la qual cosa els permet preparar el seu organisme davant d’aquests canvis; com pot ser el moment de la floració a la primavera. Guardar informació és crear memòria. Nosaltres necessitem d’imatges per a recordar i encara estem (re)aprenent la nostra relació amb la natura. Al materialitzar fotografies dels elements patrimonials i dels habitants de la Vall sobre fulles de les plantes recollides en aquest mateix espai, el projecte pretén establir un nou vincle entre la memòria del lloc i la natura. L’ús de la clorotipia i l’antotipia, processos fotogràfics basats en la fotosensibilitat de les plantes, reforcen aquest vincle.
